Typographic Systems Poster

At a Typographic Systems Workshop, we were asked to write instructions for designing a poster using only a block of text provided to us.

Knowing that I was designing for myself, I chose to ignore what I knew a poster was, and instead experiment with the copy to see what a poster could be. Yet still, I wanted to be methodical and efficient. So I compromised, writing a series of very specific, overly detailed instructions that explained each action, step-by-step. As I wrote the instructions, I had no idea of the visual outcome. Would it be good? Bad? Interesting? I found this experience of designing for process instead of designing for a finished product both thrilling and fulfilling.
