Celica Portraits

Celica Portraits is a reimagination and reconstruction of car parts found at Pick-n-Pull.

Rigid, machined metal and plastic shapes become abstract, malleable forms when photographed. Digitally collaging the images together mimics the physical act of salvaging. The digital compositions - like their physical counterparts - fit together based on the likeness of pattern and scale. The resulting imagery is a portrait of an ephemeral repair; parts not quite matching up, but close enough to suggest function.
